  • a university graduate (Computer Science, BSc in Engineering, etc.) or have equivalent experience

    • working on a non-trivial project in a professional environment
    • client-side web development in general (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, with SPAs a plus)
    • creating RESTful APIs
    • working with relational databases
    • good software development practices (writing tests, documentation, agile methods)

As an intermediate software developer, your roles & responsibilities will be to

  • develop features and correct issues in a web application used in diagnostic imaging
  • write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and manual tests
  • gather requirements from domain experts and clients, including occasional on-site visits
  • peer-review code
  • document technical and non-technical aspects of the product and its code
  • participate in the design and evaluation of interfaces and their usability
  • participate in deploying applications for use by clients
  • participate in peer-reviewing of code
  • participate in documenting technical and non-technical aspects of the product and its code
  • participate in teaching internship students
  • participate in internal system security and privacy audits
  • adhere to high-quality software and product development principles

Applicants should have experience with

  • working in a professional software development environment (3+ years) on a non-trivial project
  • client-side web development in general (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
  • creating RESTful APIs
  • relational databases
  • good software development practices (writing tests, documentation, agile methods)

While not required, we favour applicants who

  • have experience or interest in the medical IT field
  • have experience with functional programming (Lisp or ML)
  • have experience with HL7 and/or FHIR
  • have a basic understanding of diagnostic imaging principles
